Popularized in Hong Kong, traditional Gook Po Cha (also called Gupu Cha) is a rich and earthy pu'erh mellowed with chrysantheumum blossoms. Our blend is a variation that includes tea blossoms harvested from ancient tea trees as well as Chinese chrysanthemum blossoms. This is a delicious introduction to the world of aged teas.
Though pu'erh (aged) teas are not technically black teas, they brew up quite dark with an earthy flavor and dark cup color. Unlike black teas, however, they yield multiple infusions and have a very low acidity. Though some people liken their fragrance to freshly-turned earth, pu’erh tea is gentle on the stomach and was reputed to aid in digestion and cleanse the blood by the ancient Chinese.
