This floral oolong from Fujian, China is one of our favorites. This is one of the best Ti Kuan Yin oolongs we have found and is hand scented using a traditional process. Tea leaves are layered with fresh Yulan orchid blossoms (also called Chinese "magnolia") and will absorb the orchids' beautiful fragrance. This process is repeated up to 12 or 15 times until a perfect balance is reached. Yields three to four infusions.
Oolong tea comes from the same plant as black, green and white teas and only differs in the processing. Some oolongs are quite dark while others brew up quite light. The color of the leaf and cup depends on how long the leaves are oxidized but, as a rule, they are lighter than black teas and darker than green teas. Oolongs are also known for yielding many infusions from the same leaf, sometimes as many as four.
